Introducing Our New CEO: Bashir Abu-Amr
I’m excited to announce that Bashir Abu-Amr, our former Head of Delivery, has been promoted to the position of CEO. With over four years of hands-on experience in security research, project management, and leading delivery and more than a decade of experience in finance and economics prior to that, Bashir has been an absolute powerhouse in helping to build this team and creating a sustainable and productive business.
His impressive portfolio boasts more than 100 security audits, demonstrating his exceptional skill and dedication to helping secure decentralized technology.
Bashir’s background in finance and economics followed by his journey into crypto and web3 started with a curiosity about the core tenets of decentralized finance–autonomy, privacy, and self-sovereignty. This has since blossomed into a steadfast commitment to explore and harness the transformative power of decentralized technology, aligning perfectly with our mission to create a safer and more resilient ecosystem for decentralized tech.
Under Bashir's leadership, Defense is set to soar to new heights, aiming to solidify its vision as the leading Bitcoin applied cryptography and security auditing firm, applying innovative strategies and a continued focus on excellence.

I’m also thrilled to announce that David Braun has joined the Defense family as our VP of Auditing & Engineering! With a background as a seasoned leader, veteran software developer, and wealth of experience in security auditing in crypto and web3, David is set to bring a transformative impact to our team and will play a crucial role in the future of Defense.
In his pivotal role, David will lead our talented team of security auditors, guiding them in line with the Defense vision. He will set strategic growth goals that will not only enhance our capabilities but also elevate our standards of excellence.
